TEHRAN: Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s offer of talks without preconditions.
The Iranian officials and military commanders termed the offer by the US President's words contradict his actions as he reimposed sanctions on Tehran.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Trump’s repudiation of international nuclear deal was “illegal” and Iran would not easily yield to Washington’s renewed campaign to strangle Iran’s vital oil exports.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif said Washington should blame itself for ending talks with Tehran when it withdrew from the nuclear deal.
While dismissing the Trump's offer for talks, the head Revolutionary Guards commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Iran is not North Korea to accept such offer for a meeting.
