Imran Khan snubs party leaders over lobbying for top slots

LAHORE – PTI Chairman Imran Khan has reportedly snubbed the party leaders from Punjab and KP over lobbying in media for top slots in the provinces.

The race for the top slots and ministries has aggravated within the PTI.

The race for the control of Punjab province entered the last phase with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) claiming to achieve the required seats needed to form the provincial government.

Meanwhile, PTI chairman Imran Khan is yet to announce the nomination for Punjab Chief Minister.

Party leader Jehangir Tareen has said that no one has done lobbying for Punjab CM post as Imran Khan will take make the final decision.

Aleem Khan, Yasmin Rashid, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Mian Mehmood ur Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal and Fawad Chaudhry are six candidates for key chief minister of Punjab position.

PTI has done detailed consultation pertaining to government formation matter.

PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry has already claimed to have secured majority in both Centre and Punjab and announced to form government.

Fawad stated that PTI has obtained support of as many as 168 lawmakers in National Assembly and 180 lawmakers in Punjab Assembly.

On the other, PTI’s alliance with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid has further strengthened after the decision to nominate Pervaiz Elahi as speaker of Punjab Assembly.

Elahi has also expressed his approval in the matter. If elected, he will be resuming the post for second time as 17th speaker of Punjab Assembly.
