FATA University: The only source of Higher Education in Tribal Areas

ISLAMABAD (APP): Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) University is starting master degree programmes in various disciplines from September 2016.
According to an official of SAFRON Ministry, the master classes would be started in various colleges of FATA till the completion of the university building.
He said it would be the first ever university in FATA which would provide high-quality education to the tribal youth.
He said some 266 kanal land had been purchased for the FATA University, while the Higher Education Commission (HEC) allocated Rs 1.90 billion for the construction of its building. PC-1 of the Project had already been approved.
The official said Vice Chancellor of the university had been appointed, who was supervising the work for the establishment of the campus.
Quality education and other basic needs of the tribal people should be addressed so that they could play their due role in the country's development, he added.
The official said a model school would aslo be established in every tribal agency as soon as possible. The former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor had launched education emergency in the FATA areas, he added.
