LAHORE - The confrontation between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and disqualified PTI leader Jahangir Tareen again surfaced on Monday that gives the opposition something to talk about.
Responding to a question during a press conference in Lahore earlier today, Qureshi criticised the leader's attendance in government and PTI meetings. "I will ask Tareen to think, whenever you sit in official meetings Marriyum Aurangzeb gets a chance to hold press conferences," he remarked.
Qureshi requested Tareen to avoid attending government meetings as this is not only contempt of Supreme Court verdict but it also provides the opposition an opportunity to criticise the party.
“I am sticking with the principles, not against anybody as questions are raised when you are involved in the political matters,” Qureshi said.
Responding to the statement aggressively, ex-PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen said he attended those meetings with PM Imran Khan's permission and on his invitation.
Former parliamentarian Jahangir Tareen said the serving Pakistan his right and no one including Qureshi can’t stop him to do that.

There's only one man in my life whom I consider my leader & to whom I'm answerable. His name is Imran Khan. I've stood by his side through thick and thin and will continue to do so till my last breath, IA. What others may say for their own strange reasons does not concern me . 3:13 PM - Apr 1, 2019 link

In his reaction on micro-blogging website Twitter, clarified, “I follow the orders of my leader and he is Imran Khan and I go everywhere following his orders.”
This is not the first time that two senior aides of the prime minister have public spoken against each other. PM Imran too, had in the past admitted that the PTI is divided in groups led by his senior party members.
Last month, Jahangir Tareen had briefed the Federal Cabinet on agriculture reforms package. The opposition parties questioned under what capacity did the former PTI official was allowed to attend the high-level meeting.
