Turkish Airlines to invest in production of Pakistani movie

KARACHI: (APP) Turkish Airlines with a track record of investments in Hollywood will for the first time supporting and facilitating a Pakistani feature film-Wajood.
This was announced here Friday in a press conference jointly held by General Manager, Turkish Airlines, Fatih Atacan Temel and known Pakistani Producer/Director and actor Javed Shaikh.
As per agreement 'Wajood' will be largely filmed in Turkey, for which all relevant facilities are to be provided by Turkish Airlines.
Producer/Director Javed Shaikh said Turkish film production company "Azat Films" is also in the loop and that the cast of the movie include Pakistani, Indian and Turkish stars.
"More than 45 scenes will be picturized at different scenic locations in Turkey and these would also particularly include songs, an integral part of our films." he said.
Javed Shaikh announced that trailer of the movie "Wajood" would be released after Eid-ul-Fitr while the main picture will hit the local screen on eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
Fatih Atacan on the occasion cited Pakistan to be a prized destination for heavy investments, particularly in the sphere of art and culture.
The two speakers on the occasion also referred to role played by Embassy of Turkey in Pakistan and Pakistan Embassy in Turkey to get the scheme materialized for mutual benefit of the two countries.
"It will enable us to introduce our culture to the international audience," said Javed Shaikh in response to a question raised by journalists,
"For Turkish Airlines it will be an opportunity to promote its business in Pakistan," commented Fatih Atacan Temel.
In reply to a question, he said besides movie making business or film industry Pakistan holds tremendous potential to attract investment in varied other sectors.
"It is in the give backdrop and also to streamline the process we have entered into an agreement with Producer/Director Javed Shaikh," said the senior official of the Turkish air carrier.
To another query, he said Turkish Airlines had invested in different Hollywood made films including block busters as spider man /batman and dawn of justice etc.
In particular context of Pakistan, he said Turkish Airlines is playing a positive role to promote cultural activities between the two brotherly countries.
He said close and cordial relationship between the two countries is equally cherished by the people of the two countries.
The official said the carrier to give an additional boost to people to people contact will be offering its economy class passengers a one day - one night complimentary stay in Istanbul while business class passenger will have the opportunity to stay there for two days and two nights.
Sales Manager, Turkish Airlines' Pakistan office, Agha Ahmad Hussain and General Manager, Pearl Continental Hotel, Rehan Pirzada alongwith Khalid Butt were also present on the occasion.
